I got these from Rich King last week on ebay. I must say, the wrap and chrome are in stunning shape for a 1969. This is the first Slingerland set I've ever owned. It's a Buddy set in 22, 13, 16 sans the second floor tom. Yes I know it's the wrong bass drum size, but looking at the catalog the 24 was an option. And yes, I also know Buddy would never have played that finish. It's the two cymbal holders on the bass that defines it, so I'm told.

I was watching that auction closely. Beautiful kit. It is stunning. I'm so glad it went to one of us so that we could get the lowdown and bask in the mojo.
Looking forward to the cool detail pics.

Forgot to add ... my Buddy kit is the same 22,13,16 (matching snare). So, it only has a single 16 and a 22 bass. It's definitely a Slingy Buddy kit ... in all it's glory.

I've wanted one of those Yellow Tiger kits. LOVE that wrap.

If you gave him enough $$$,Buddy would have played them.....for about 1 week!

Yes Buddy might have played then once and then he would have broken the nose of the drum company rep.

Wicked. Looks like they found a nice home.

(Not to mention a nice place IN your home. Wish my drums were in the middle of the living room :D )

Thanks. It has already been decreed from on high <cough>wife<cough> that "they will NOT be allowed to stay there". So they will be spending their days in hard, foam lined cases between gigs, only seeing the light of day for cleaning and head changes and only really living under stage lights.

sometimes the stage lights are what we live for at that moment it is like seeing Valhalla in all its glory it becomes surreal, i never get used to it it still mesmerizes me the lights bouncing on my kit i'm like a little kid at Xmas every time, it affects me the most before i start playing when we do sound and waiting to start i sometimes just sit back and meditate on them and each stage gives it a new look so in the cases so be it but when they come out its pure awe inspiring ....

Hey 55WFL, If you are in the Bethlehem PA area during Musikfest we (The Trophy Husbands), me and my Tigers are playing inside Hotel Bethlehem on 8/5 and 8/12 from 8-12 pm. Stop by and say hey. Last year we had over 600+ people packed in there. Quite the scene.

I had a YT Slinger kit around 4 years ago...22,12,13,16

Stanton Moore played it when he was at my house...

That set was magic..........seemed like it played itself..

Even after a 1/2 -1 hour, you wanted to keep playing it..

And you sold it because... I'm still dialing in the bass drum, but the toms sound like heaven miked or not and are very easy to tune. "Dummmm". Pic from a recent gig.

There were some extra holes..........

A guy in Michigan was buying all sorts of stuff then from me>(3-4 kits/snares/cymbals),so off they went............

I thought H&B recalled all of those because of law suits.
