Well, here it is guys. I played this snare and some of the other ludwig snares in Jr High back between the years of 1988-1990. I went and visited my Music Teacher who is still teaching there today, He informed me that all the old Marching Drum equipment I played as a teen was sitting on a top shelf in storage out of the way. I expressed the idea of maybe buying one of the snares........He just handed it to me and said "There you go." I got it for free. It is a 58-59 Ludwig Marching Snare. The butt-plate says WFL, it's the original wrap in the colors of the school I attended. 3 of the lugs had broke inside because Ludwig originaly put shorter screws with these snares so the lugs broke only where the screws ended, so for the time being I fixed the lugs by putting longer screws in them until I can buy some more lugs on ebay. I'm still needing the bottom piece to the throw before I can play it again, but everything else looks great.

Cool1 Should be fairly easy to get the old girl back into playing shape.

In my Drum Corps days our drum line competed against the "Cavaliers" from Kitchener, Ontario who marched the same line of snares with the red and silver sparkle wrap. Very cool!
