Very nice! Is that the top rim I just sent you on that drum?

Yepper....
The seller had sent some photos, but the top rim was removed in the pics.
When he realized it was not original to the drum, he offered free shipping and a discount.
We settled on sending me the drum with partial payment so I could get a better look. It was a Gretsch die cast rim, so I bought the one on the drum from you.

Matches perfectly, thanks blairndrums....!!

I got a good price on the drum, and the seller insisted I not pay shipping, but I sent him an extra $50 on top of the selling price anyway.
It was well worth it, and made me feel good.

Hey Kevins!

Excellent! I have a 6.5" version, sans nickel plating!

How cool are they? Different vibe to a Ludwig NOB. Wetter, strong mid-range punch. Ridiculous thump in studio.

Thanks all...!!!
The kind words are much appreciated !!

VTM has an extra tube of the Simichrome, and I have a calf or two that I'm gonna try out. I would get a slunk for the snare side, but my god those puppies are expensive......

With calf top/bottom,you can't tune it up too tight like we are used to nowadays........

If tensioned low,it will sound "military".........good for funeral dirges though!Excited

Thats why you only want calf on top to play rock/jazz etc...............

I was at kevin's house the other day, I got to tune and play this Beautiful drum, It does have it's own tone, not Ludwig sounding at all, this drum sounds as good or better than it looks and it looks Awesome !!!..
I will own one of these one day!
