1962 Left Handed, Midnight Blue Pearl, 18,12,14 w/snare. The kit was ordered with a virgin BD and the local drum shop added the left handed tom rail. (notice the lack of Pratt Muffler) Killing little kit.

Keep the heads...they add character. Just think if they could talk...looks like they've been around for a while.

Maybe I used the wrong emoticon. My head comment was meant as a joke.

MB was one of Gretsch's most common,if not THEE most common color for them in 20,12,14 / 22,13,16,but I don't hear of too many 18" kits in that wrap for some reason.

Hello,
The original owner said he bought the kit with a 20" but after a few months he swapped it for an 18". The kit sounds great! the dirty heads sound surprisingly good :) Thanks for all the comments.

I'm salivating. MB is a beautiful color for Gretsch which probably explains why it is a common color.

Beautiful kit Drums008! I would love to find an 18" BD in MBP.

I agree, this is the first I've seen. It seems in general that the more common finishes are more scarce as 14x18's, and the more rare finishes are more common as 14x18's. I've seen more Burgundy, Tangerine, and Starlight 14x18's than I have Silver Sparkle, Red Sparkle, or WMP.

Thanks,
Bill

Mmm, Beautiful kit. Really classy looking. Are you using calf? Those heads look great, they give it real ''funky'' look. I bet they sound pretty funky!

Bill,I know you have had more 18" G.kits then I,but I had a 18" BD in Red Sparkle 20+ years ago.........bought it for $75 from a guy!

I happened to have the 12" and 14" FT already,so that worked out good.........

The BD had been drilled for a Luddy double tom mount though electricit :-(

Flipped the kit to a guy in NYC,and I heard it is still being used there........

Also, had a Champagne 18" kit that went to Rochester,NY,a Blk Nitron kit that is 30 miles away, and a Starlite, that is in Italy now.

PS......re the Red Sparkle 18" BD...........4-5 years after I bought the BD for $75,I heard rumor that the guy I bought it from was telling people..........

"Watch out for Blair.....he is slick.......bought a 18" G. BD from me for $75!"............CryBaby

Even though he had been selling vintage drums for 5-10 years before I even started selling and he named the price!

He didn't even know what he had when he sold it!
