And I remember this discussion well! I kind of thought that yours would be a TRUE 51/2X14, as most seem to be.. or at least that I have personally seen.. but .. there have been some that were a little "taller" too. Regarding snare/wires choice:

I do play my 1955 WFL Buddy Rich Super Classic with the 1948/50 WFL Buddy Rich Super Classic set, and I also replaced the wires on this drum with the PureSounds, mainly because the original wires were a tad, how shall I say... compromised. The drum sounds wonderful with the PureSounds, although I chose to go with the replacement as original route, fully extended. Did I ask about this prior? What butt on yours Mark? P88? Should be! A few pics of mine...

Which PureSound snares sound best in your opinion on the 50's 5 1/2 x 14" Super Classic? Also what heads do you guys use on it? Cheers
