Congrats, sooo great!Cool1
I have a soft spot for this wrap (on Pearl's drum forum there exists one with the same sizzling wrap - but in orange).

Looks awesome! I have a close cousin of these, an Astro blue onyx (or maybe it's blue agate?) snare drum.

Thanks, I've seen a similar wrap on a Sling in orange/yellow? I like orange too.

Thank you. When I looked it up, they called it Red Agate Pearl. Yours looks very nice and the shell is identical to mine also. My snare doesn't have the original strainer. It probably originally came with one like yours. What do they call that style of rim you have on yours? Is that what's considered a sticksaver rim when it curves in like that?

Yes, the rims on my Astro snare are the Japanese copies of Slingerland's Stick Saver design. Although I'm not sure if these particular rims were the actual originals on my snare, something just like them was being used at the time. This page from an early Star catalog is funny, it calls them Stick-Savers and "Star Rim Shot Counter Hoops."
