Found this through a local Craigslist ad. Someone was cleaning out a storage unit which had several drum items and this was part of it. It was kept in a case with two large silica packets for who knows how long. When I opened the case for the first time my jaw dropped. Not one speck of rust! I just gave the chrome a quick cleaning to take care of some finger smudges and the aluminum doesn’t have a scratch on it that I can find. I believe the barely played heads are even original with the old Weather Master ink stamps. Heck, even the tension rod washers are original! The only flaw I found at this point is the batter hoop has a small crack by one of the tension rod holes. I can tension and tune it but I don’t know how long it will last. Even with that, it was still an excellent find.

That's a beauty... and a great story. It always makes you wonder how many more old drums are sitting in attics and storage units waiting to be discovered.

That hoop will be fine as long as you dont rimshot above that hoop hole! Great find, beaut drum.

That was my thinking as well, so I strategically placed that area of the hoop opposite from where I rim-shot.
