I recently bought a Ludwig kit on ebay buy it now on a whim. Looked like a good deal, something to clean up and restore. The auction description and pictures were poor, so I couldn't tell much in the way of sizes or condition... well the drums arrived today, and I am very surprised. The mounted tom is a 13 x 9, but the floor tom is a 14 x 14. Strangest of all is the bass drum - 18 x 12. Could this have been a factory matched kit? The serial numbers are all from 1967...would they have put a 13" tom with an 18" bass? I know Rogers and Gretsch 18" bass drums are rare, how about Ludwig?

Oh...my! You have made a VERY fortunate find, my friend! That little bass drum is a pretty rare bird....and with a 14 X 14 floor tom, you almost have a Jazzette kit. All you need to do is to find a blue sparkle 12 X 8 and you're set-pun intended! :)

That's a really cool little bebop kit. PM me if you might be interested in parting with it! :)
