Any help would be appreciated. We have a set of 5 Gretsch drums. Here's what we know about them:
1. Material is wood.
2. Finish is silver sparkle pearl.
3. Badge is round Gretsch 1960's.
4. Interior finish is natural.
5. Hardware configuration is streamline lug.
6. Condition is fair ot good (bass needs top).
Any idea on their value?
Thanks!

Give the sizes of the drums and which drums you have.

Bear with me, I know next to nothing about drums.
Bass: 21" x 15" model: 4249 serial: 74295
Snare (new head 2005): 14" x 6 1/2" model: 4160 serial: 74161
Floor Drum: 16 x 17 1/2" (no model or serial)
Toms: 12 X 8 3/4" model: 4415 serial: 74412 & 74417
My daughter bought this set and now wishes to sell them. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Dennis,
The floor tom may have a date stamp on the inside of the shell that would look similar to one you'd get for a library book.
What condition is the set in? Meaning is the wrap discolored? Is it scratched up? Is the wrap at the seam still well glued or is it lifting?
Are the mufflers present? Do the mufflers work? Turn the knobs and see if the felt mounted on the arm moves?
Is the chrome lugs and hoops pitted and corroded or still mostly shiny?
Or I'll send you my e-mail address and you can send me some pictures.

Looking at them again, I found the lugs to be pitted on the floor drum (the others are in good condition); the wrap is slightly discolored on all the drums and it is also pulling up at the seam. Where would I find the muffler? Sent pictures to the website so they can also be included.
Thanks for your help.
