OK, it's late, after a night in the studio, the only drummer around, nobody to talk drums to, so I have a question to my drum brothers. When you think of any vintage drum company what drum covering comes to mind FIRST for that company? I'll put my short list but I want to hear yours. I'm 57 so it's from my time frame.
Ludwig - Black Oyster Pearl - Ringo of course.
Slingerland - White Marine Pearl - Buddy, Gene
Rogers - Red Glass Glitter - Dave Clark Five
Gretsch - ? WMP
Camco - ?
What do you think?

How can anyone think of anybody but N.Peart when you see a big set of red Tamas?
Or John Bonham and an amber set of Ludwig vistas?
Anytime I see a Bubinga or Ebony drum I think sonor Sigs..

Interesting lists guys. I would have guessed everybody would have said BOP for Ludwig but only two did. Everybody who mentioned Slingerland said WMP, the most consistent response. That was fun, maybe we should try the first Playboy centerfold that comes to mind. Clapping Happy2

I think of Slingerland when I think of WMP
I think black Cortex when I think of Rogers
Red sparkle or blue sparkle for Ludwig
Dark wood stain for Gretsch (or bright yellow)
Camcos weren't even known to me, so I have no idea what color to associate with them! I would have to say that, now, I think of some natural wood color -like maple or mahogany colors.
Trixon or Vox -I always think of that light aqua sparkle color
Sonor -always Rosewood or Bubinga
Premier -??? I remember a light opaque purple colored set from when I was in college. They were Resonators. -hated them, btw! :)
