I am about to help, again, someone sell a long neglected kit. I will not suffer further attacks. If you are not intereested in the kit, leave it alone. The young lady has had them professionally appraised, and this is what she was told, 25-2800 (not her asking price, by a good bit per condition) in good, clean condition. I am in no way influencing her pricing decisions, she came about the asking price on her own, and it will be revealed once all the info is put together in a good, clean post. Get ready for a complete, unmolested, well played players' kit, cymbals, stands all there and included in HER asking price. The heads are worn, there is some rash and one of the toms has a crack in the wrap. I will be getting more pix and info later today to get this lsited.
There is no monetary investment on my part, nor will there be any commission, I am simply helping her list them here. Keystone badges, 6 pc plus snare. Her dad bought them new and played them through the 70s....It is psych red, so it will reflect the price SHE is asking.

I will post preview pics later today. Green is not faded, BTW.

Here we go again. JonniStix getting in between the buyer and seller for his own selfish needs What a pair this guy has to keep posting on this forum....Just kidding. I wanted to get this post started properly in the manner you have come to expect. . . . .JamesLoLoLoLo

I will advise her as the proper pix, and how to post then I will be out of the way. That is ALL my involvement will be on this post. Be respectful of the lady and her needs, she is selling her Fathers drums. Not some kit she picked up from a dumpster, yardsale or off a curb.

FT, Thanks, I need more abuse this week....for some reason I just haven't gotten quite enough.

Psych Red snare?
Not sure. She will be getting back to me later today. My guess is the snare is a Supra, but we shall see...She has intimated there will be NO parting out, it's all or nothing.

For a guy that collects "junk" you seem to give advice to people about items that don't necessarily fall into your categorey. Why don't you really be a "nice guy" and buy the drums off this lady at the price that you suggest, then turn around and sell them to someone here for the same price. You wanna be a nice guy ----- be a nice guy!

HACK Yourself !!!!!!

I didn't see any post from this lady, all I saw was your post claiming that it was from this lady!

You know, you give "real" people low estimates for their items, but you somehow manage the estimate high for these "other" people that come to you for help.

New or Old ID, I've been coming to this forum here to read some of the posts and it always seems that you're involved in these contreversial posts.

Leave Jonni alone!

what he chooses to do is none of our concern!

at least he's being completely honest/upfront about everything..

unlike some major drum collectors (not gonna mention names)

he's just trying to help some people out and maybe get some $$$ out of it.

I am not making anything, nor I am trying to. And when she posts her inherited drums later this evening, you can see for yourself. I have ZERO involvement other than to help her get them posted with photos that will depict the drums as they are, not some made up studio shots. Once they are posted, she will set her own terms. PERIOD.

That's the worst type of person there..........pretending to help someone when in fact they are profiting from them.

some people wouldn't want them to do it for free?

i'm currently selling a whole bunch of my dads stuff on craigslist (guitar stuff)

just being a good son..not expecting anything out of it.

and he insists on giving me a piece of the pie.

i guess its just how you look at it..the type of person you are.

some people believe in rewarding others for their good deeds..others just use and abuse them.

its like when you get paid doing something you absolutely love..it feels so wrong but yet so right..

I don't think your dad's items really fit into this discussion, I mean, it is your dad afterall. What kind of person would take a kickback from his dad ?

why are you being such a schmoe? leave jonni alone. what did he ever do to you to warrant this negative attention? why would you do this? we are a bunch of guys and girls who love vintage drums. why would you come here to stir up garbage like this? it doesn't make sense.

LudwigLover

its the same principal..he simply wont take "no" for an answer.

like i said..some people believe you should be rewarded for you knowledge/work.

its all in a persons perspective and you're entitled to your own as well!

but hassling Jonni when he's not doing anything wrong is a different story.

if he wants to help someone..let him!

Not here to stir anything, just making people realize that just because you have 100's of posts doesn't make you a vintage drum expert or God's answer to worldwide peace. I'm voicing my opinions here, same as you guys.

Look, not everyone in this world is a profiteer. Her father passed away 3 years ago. He instructed her to do one of two things, this is the one she did not want to do, but finding the suitable candidate in her town to donate them to was not happening, so she is selling them since no one in her family is a drummer, nor has any desire to continue storing them, and as he told her, get them in the hands of someone that will APPRECIATE them.
And what is it of your business what I choose to do with my time? I volunteer with many youth groups, I volunteer with the elderly, I drive disabled peolpe of all ages to doctors' appointments they would otherwise have to pay someone else for. I do many things that are considered a donation of time, money and energy, and I expect nothing in return.
What do you contribute to your, or any other, community?

jonni, no worries. you keep doing the right thing. to give assistance to one is not a bad days work. focus on the heart, my man. when you do that, all the garbage will be washed down the sewer and what is left ... it's beautiful.

take care.

ludwiglover, you did nothing wrong. all is good. it's a circle of friends and the support is there. your heart is in the right place. good to have you among us.

I have gone after this poor man before....and I would like to say sorry. I went after him because he was one of a couple people who thought I was low-balling people on the forum and purchasing gear for cheap.

This man really isn't trying to cheat anyone...I think the only reason why people get ****ed off is because he is dealing with some nice drums that they would want to own.(at least that is why i got mad at him about the rogers snare)

Ditto on that vintage drum bug ............. !!!
He sent me a "bonus" calf skin head with an item I got from him not long ago.
As a matter of fact, the item was a piece of vintage Slingerland sparkling blue pearl wrap... the deep one from the sixties, and that was FREE too....
Just an all around nice guy, and anyone who suspects Jonni of doing anything other than just what he says is mistaken. I believe him to be an honest and forthcoming individual.

I promise you that I would never hide behind another ID and make comments like that. That is not me, if that post is meant to ask if it was me. I only have one I.D.

Besides, those rants are not my stlye. I like to add a bit of wit wrapped up with some tact to get my points across. That is just beligerence. Not my style.

EDIT:

Actually, I take offense to this allegation. It is unfounded, frivolous and completely unsubstantiated. Hunches and itchy elbows shouldn't be enough to drag someone through the mud, erroneously at that.

If ANYONE can provide one shred of evidence that I am hitandrun, you can HAVE my drums!!!!

The wrap came off the tom I sent to Vin. Sorry Vin, it came off before we made the deal. I was originally going to use the tom in a MIJ mix-n-match kit, but decided against it. I hope that you can get that one spot repaired. If you are unsure of how to do it, let me know, I can tell you what I have done so far, the reasons and what I used. The plies were coming apart so badly that I had to do something. After the residue comes off, the shell will be structurally a tank.
The head kevins refers to came off this shell as well, so two members share the same drum. However, the head...it may not ever see the light of day again. I would hope that it is in a condition that it is salvagable. But, it could be trimmed to a 10" shell....

Thanks for all your confidence guys...it means a lot to me. I know I am an irritant to some, but you know, I try to be as helpful as I can to as many as I can. And since I am a salesman, I know how that can come off to yet others...but I really don't care about the detractors, they are just plain fun to fu...nevermind, I think you get the idea.

I will keep you all posted in case I am contacted again regarding these Psych Red drums. I have all PMs stored, so if the party gets in touch, I will get to you. I will keep you all informed if the situation changes, as it is possible it may....
