Hi All,

Was just wondering what everyone's playing on their beautiful vintage drums?

I play jump blues, swing, and early 50's rock n roll.

Had been playing on modern kits (with vintage finishes) for the longest time. When I finally made the switch to a vintage kit, the sound became so much more authentic!

So how about everyone else? What kind(s) of music does everyone play?

I play rock (led zeppelin, david bowie, and other stuff), but mostly just jazz whether it be upbeat or very slow tempo thats what I like to play.

Funk, rock, New Orleans, blues. VIntage kit with some NV add ons (8 and 10" toms, double pedals, stationary hat, too many cymbals on a rack system). Down size it based on conditions.

I play in a rockabilly/psychobilly band, but a lot of the time I choose to use whatever the house kit is (which 99% of the time is a pearl export or something similar). My Vintage stuff is too valuable , and many times, there is no secure place for me to store them before or after the performance. Plus there's always the risk of some idiot knocking in to your stuff, or spilling their drink on it.

When I gig with my jazz band I use my '65 Slingerland. It sounds great and it's easy to transport due to the drum sizes and the light weight.

So that's the music I play, jazz and rockabilly, altough I do ther things from time to time, those are my real loves.
