We have all seen some pretty ridiculous prices on drums for sale on C-list and eBay but I think this one takes the cake...

the absolute least this person could have done, is take an hour and clean them, and set them up like a drum kit...
then deduct $4500.00 from the asking price.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, it's worth every penny. It is the very, very rare "red sparkel" wrap after all...

Ooh! These things are worth more, actually. Do you see the red sparkle inlay on the metal bass drum hoops? It's nearly impossible to find one with them intact because of the glue they used at the factory...FYI

This ad was TOTALLY printed wrong-the set was played by world-famous C/W drummer Red Sparkel during the 1971 world tour, with his band Luan and the Tone Busters. All the heds were sined by Red personally.....gorsh-durn spel chek...

Well, you know me.....
I am sorry to inform you of this fact, but those drums, regardless of the badges are worth about 200-250. I am an internationally recognized expert on all things MIJ drums, and these are indeed a hard to find "name", however, they are exactly like all other stencil drums from Pearl and Star from the early 60s through 74, when Star ceased production to become TAMA. At this time, Pearl sent all stencil operations and production to Taiwan. Look at any Stewart, Astro, Zimgar, Lyra....there are literally 150 "brand name" stencil drums from this period.
You may join us at www.vintagedrumforum.com (http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/) and post these in our Non-USA drums section or our What's it worth section as well. A name badge needs not be recognized to be worthy, however these drums are all the exact same, just different configurations and badges, therefore not at all "rare", just not many with that badge. St. Louis Music Supply was the owner of this stencil brand name, along with 75 or so more badge names.

For 200 I think it would be worth it especially if they are three ply shells but there is no way this guy would be negotiated to that price hahaha. I really hope that no one is actually going to pay this guy 5000!

Nobody is that stupid to pay anywhere near 5K. Who has 5K to spend? And you can't tell me someone would spend that kind of money on something like that without knowing what they were buying. Unless it comes with a 6oz 24k solid gold bar he didn't tell us about.
For the guy to say a sale is pending must mean he is probably embarassed. I would be.

Hate to say it but if someone spends $5k just because the seller says it's rare then they kinda deserve what they get. They must be seriously loaded too of course.
