Fixing new badge to metal snare

Hi,

I've just take delivery of a repro Ludwig badge (B/O type). All the hints and tips I have found for badge fixing to the shell are for wood shelled drums. As the metal drums (In my case a Ludwig 402) are so much thinner, will the fixing grommet need a spacer to 'bend on to' otherwise the grommet will split. Or would the shank of the grommet need shortening?

Yes, a spacer or collar is a good idea to bend on to. Used one on an old Supra, worked fine.
