Hey--recently got a "70s" ludwig standard kit. Serial numbers range throughout the 30ks---not the millions like most 70s kits. The standard badge I have on mine can be dated as late as '82. So, do I have an 80s kit? If so, whats the difference between say a 1980 kit and a 1970 kit? Thanks

I don't think the Standards were made in the '80s...your set is probably from the early '70s. I think the serial # dating system would be different for the standards. BTW, if your finish was called Ruby strata...pink strata was a name Rogers used for their version of oyster pink...

ohhh I see, cool thanks! I just looked up my standard badges on vintagesnaredrum.com and they said as late as 82' but sometimes those dates are alittle off i suppose. So my kit is actually called ruby strata? Cool thanks for the reply!
