Gretsch,Lightning Throw-Off Butt Is Sticking

I have an adjustable lightning butt plate,(fish tail), that keeps getting stuck..I find myself having to whack the adjusting knob down, when i loosen up the snares, in the middle of song...anyone else having this prob?

Hi Chas , welcome to the forum,I have no exp with the throw off / butt plate you are talking about and I don't really understand the nature of the problem,if you could post a pic or direct everyone to a pic on the net that might help.Hopefully some of the Gretsch guys will be along soon to help.I have had problems with throwoffs sticking and have found that wd 40 works in a lot of cases.
