Welcome!
I have an old Pearl snare from the 70īs I think. Itīs a Blue Oyster or something. Iīm not really ready to sell it but I wanted to let you know that I too love old Pearl snares. I actually have had it sitting on a shelf for some time because I couldnīt get it to sound good. Itīs slighly out of round and I figured it was a lost cause. But the other day I picked it up and tuned it really high and man! What a crack! Iīll try it as my main snare tonight at rehearsal.
Second thought, if it doesnīt make it as my main snare, maybe we can work something out. Iīm in Sweden so shipping will be a little more than you perhaps was prepared for. But hey, the snare is pretty cheap to begin with. Iīm not in this for the money.
Iīll post some pics tonight (Swedish time, that is).

Hi again,
Here are the pics. I must say this snare is growing on me. It actually cut through tonight and had a delightful "dry" character to it. But hey, if you want it, Gomezz, itīs yours. How does 50 bucks plus shipping sound?
By the way, itīs 14" x 5" and the internal muffler is "disabled" but works just fine if you open up the snare and adjust the screws.

80$ is fair deal- someone should scoop them.
Dry is a good way to describe these snares. I think they all need atleast a light sanding of the bearing edges and snare beds cut in. With snare beds these snares really get much more sensitive and articulate. When the edges and beds are done there is nothing wrong with the luan 6-lug- great for R&B and soul in particular I think.

check out member vintage drum bug, he a very nice sand colored single, or thin shelled snare for 40+ shipping. I would love to have it, but it does not match any of my stuff, and he wants it gone. Look in the for sale section for pix.

BTW, this thread should be in the Non-USA section. No big deal to most, but some like to keep it clean......
