I have a late 1990's first generation German made Sonor S-class kit. 10" tom,12"tom,14"-floor tom. I am missing just the double tom holder system.(bass drum rising post, both-prism clamps, and both-tom arms. The tom suspension mount on the 2 toms are called T.I.M. (Total Acoustic Isolation Mounts)

What options would you guys recommend to find another tom holder. I have searched and searched and they are simply "impossible" to find. The T.I.M. mounts accept 19" arms and the bass drum mount accepts i think a 24mm post or whatever is slightly "smaller" than 1-inch. Can any Sonor guys chime in on this one?. I would like to still use a Sonor brand mount. Would an older Force 2000 or 3000 work or would i be better off changing the T.I.M. mounts to the newer T.A.R. mounts and buy the newer L-rod arms to fit the T.A.R. mounts? Thanks.

My sonor delite kit has the T.A.R. mounting system and is very solid, very adjustable and upgradeable, as long as you are able to retrofit without any alterations to your shells, its a good way to go. good hunting.

I think i will just wait until i find a 10" and 12" T.A.R. mount then. Of course i would not alter the shells. I emailed Sonor a month ago and never heard anything from them.(Poor customer service) Talked to a few dealers and never heard back from them either. This is a nice set of drums but i think next time i will pass on anything Sonor that is missing any crucial parts. Thanks.

Hi. Yes i had that guy check with Sonor and had no luck. I bought a few non Sonor things off him a few months ago.. i could buy the 19mm Force arms he has on his site for $28euros converted over to dollars and shipping would set me back over $100.00 and use a drum rack but i dont like racks anymore and was hoping for a Sonor double tom holder that would work. Thanks.

Indeed. May I be of help for you? I'm from Germany and it's easy for me to make a phone call there and see what happens.
Can you name, please, the exact article number (if available) or an exact spare part description? I'll go after that then.

Ralf

NB: just thinking of another option for the search. This forum:

Here is an S-class catalog page i found online below. Same drums as i have. I have the denim outfit kit drum sizes in cherry finish. All of the part numbers for every piece of hardware are on the page. Thanks.

Hi,

As promised, I had a phone call with Sonor today. They wonder why they didn't get your email?! Surely they would have replied, they said (I believe that.)

It's true, there are just some of the parts still available - unfortunately not everything. Here is the list (which you can give to the Sonor distributor in US):

- You do need a new bass drum bracket, the old one is sold out.
You can use the Sonor type no. 145.903.04

- For that basis, you furtheron need the 'middle part' of the double tom holder new: Sonor type no. 145.981.15

- Then you can add these tom arms: Sonor type no. 145.211.01 (diameter 19 mm)

- Plus two clamps: Sonor type no. 125.513.01

For the toms you have two options:
- either you mount a newer tom bracket to the shell plus any fitting tom arm
- or you use a third-party-RIM-system with any tom bracket plus a L-arm-piece.

Hope this is of help for you. To be sure, you may compare all the mentioned type nos. with the information directly on the Sonor website once more before ordering them.

Hi, I appreciate your effort and time doing that. I know i will most likely never find the original double tom holder but i can buy 2-19mm Force arms with the short end on one end from stdrums.com in Germany and use a tom rack which i have thought about but do not care for racks so i think i have decided to go with the T.A.R. mounts then get a new Sonor double tom holder which i think are as low as $59.00+shipping on ebay for a new one. Thanks again.
