I went recently and had a look at a pair of 6" and 8" Slingerland concert(?) toms advertised locally. These looked to be 5ply maple but had a thin reinforcement ring only on the bottom side. Also the rims were sticksavers but were not as curved inward as usual, tightened down almost flush to the head. Are these concert toms or maybe bongos?

I am looking for a set of concerts in 3ply maple and am somewhat lacking of knowledge. Are the small 6" and 8" going to have the reinforcement rings top and bottom? I have not been able to find exactly what I am looking for, maybe I'm looking for the wrong shells?

Pictures would help if you can get some?

Also if you want to ask DrCJW directly he has his own forum section

Thanks

I don't have them in hand, I know it's hard without pictures. I'm trying to decide if I want to pick them up?

The badges I should have gotten the numbers off of. I'm gonna make a call tonight and see if I can get them. I started a new thread over here:CLICK (http://www.vintagesnaredrums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1031)

Ok that's the best spot to ask Slingerland questions. Carl does get busy and travels, but he will offer the most complete answer. That section emails him directly when a new post is created.
